General Information The other world famous venue for caves is Mulu National Park. Trek along the trail once taken by the legendary warriors on their head-hunting spree in days long gone, goes through the lowland forests and down mighty fast flowing rivers.  This is recommended for those with an unquenchable thirst for adventure and excitement.  Follow the headhunters trail and live out your fantasies in the rugged terrain of the Sarawak wilderness. Tour Description A visit here to see the "show caves" plus the long trek on the "Headhunters Trail" will take you through pristine jungle, along the unspoilt Melinau River via Longhouses (overnight). Trek all the way down river to Limbang in the 5th Division of Sarawak, from where it is a short flight back to Miri. The whole round trip lasts 5 days and is fully inclusive of guide, meals, accommodation and all fees. It is not for the faint-hearted though as this is a long, hard and hot journey with only basic accommodation on the way. Overnight stays in a hotel at Miri town. Tour Description To get away from the heat of the coastal area, from Miri, there is one of the most popular trips inland to the Bario Highlands. A 6-day excursion by light aircraft into and out of Bario (no roads!) where there is plenty of good trekking along proper paths to the surrounding longhouses and all in the cooler mountain air. Itinerary 1st Day  KUCHING/ LEMANAK LONGHOUSE  (Dinner)                                                Morning, pick up from your hotel for an overnight trip to Lemanak River Longhouse. Journey winds along the country road for 5 hours passing by pepper, rubber and cocoa plantations amidst green mountainous scenery with 3 stops along the way - first at a pepper plantation, secondly at Serian, a small town to buy some presents (Guide will advise) for the natives and lastly for lunch. Arrive at Lemanak boat jetty in mid afternoon where a motorized longboat await to take you upriver amidst overhanging foliage providing shed for the boat journey which takes about an hour to Serubah or Kesit Longhouse. There you will see among other things head trophies hanging from the rafters, antique Chinese jars and some 25 families living together under one roof in a 200-meter long longhouse. In the evening, after dinner, you will be welcomed with a costumed cultural dance performance amidst sips of rice wine.
