Itinerary

Day 1

• Meet and greet at Lahad Datu Airport, a small town in the East Coast of Sabah (recommended BKI-LDU flight: MH3010 / 0700).

• Proceed to the office for registration and briefing.

• Depart two and half hour drive on gravel road to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge in the heart of Danum Valley, aptly named the “Lost World”, as it is the largest protected area of lowland dipterocarp rainforest in Sabah covering some 43,800 Ha.

• After lunch, slide presentation at the conference room.

• Introduction to the forest through “Nature Trails” and tree top “Canopy Walkway” (300m in length and 26m in  height at the highest point) for a close-up observation of the rainforest.

• After dinner, proceed for the “Night Drive” on an open-top vehicle to search for nocturnal animals.

• Overnight at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

Day 2

• After breakfast, proceed for a guided trek to the Kadazandusun burial site called “Coffin Cliff”.

• Then proceed to “View Point” for a bird’s eye view of Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

• On the return journey, descend to the “Jacuzzi Pool”, an opportunity to take a dip into the pool.

• Lunch at the Lodge.

• In the afternoon, you may opt to go jungle trekking or go for a relaxing session of ‘tubing’ down the Danum River.

• Dinner at the Lodge.

• Night Walk in search of nocturnal animals.

• Overnight at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

Day 3

• After breakfast, proceed for a guided trek to the Fairy Falls and Serpent Falls to experience more of the sound and sights of the rainforest.

• Lunch at the Lodge.

• In the afternoon, you may opt to go jungle trekking or go for a relaxing session of ‘tubing’ down the Danum River.

• Dinner at the Lodge.

• Optional Night Drive or Night Walk in search of nocturnal animals.

• Overnight at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

Day 4

• Breakfast at the Lodge.

• Free at own leisure at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

• Lunch at the Lodge.

• Check Out and depart Borneo Rainforest Lodge to Lahad Datu (2.5 hrs drive by land).

• Transfer to Lahad Datu Airport for flight to Kota Kinabalu (recommended LDU-BKI flight: MH3023 / 1725).

• End of Tour.
