A trip taking you from sea level up into the cool heights of the foothills of Mount Kinabalu to the depth of the tropical jungle, over challenging roads across the Crocker Range and to the heartland of the Murut community. Along the way, you will see some of the most spectacular scenery in Sabah; beautiful rivers, wild animals and the rich, evergreen tropical jungle. At Tenom, visit the Sabah Agricultural Park, a living museum of Borneo's rich floral heritage, including rare orchids. Learn how local wine and coffee are made, and how the indigenous communities have lived in this unique environment for thousands of years. This exciting trip allows you to experience the life of the locals as you will be staying in a longhouse with the Murut people. Be prepared for a traditional celebration with the native including rice-wine, singing, dancing, lansaran (a bamboo trampoline) and general merry-making until the wee hours of the morning.

Day 2: 8 am: offroading from Poring to Tongod; overnight camping; B, L, D

Day 3: 8 am: more offroading from Tongod into FMU-5 (Forest Management Unit); overnight camping, B, L, D

Day 4: 8 am; though FMU-5 to Tenom; visit of the agricultural park of Tenom, overnight in a Murut house; B, L, D

Day 5: 8 am: drive from Tenom to Klias to see proboscis monkeys and fireflies on a evening boat cruise in the Mangroves; overnight in a hotel/chalet; B, L, D

Day 6: leisurely morning; back to Kota Kinabalu; no accommodation incl.; B, L
