Introduction
This itinerary will take you
first to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (North Borneo) with its beautiful coral islands and towering
14,000 ft mountain, beckoning you from the clouds. Here you have a choice of either
climbing the mountain or visiting the East Coast of Borneo and seeing the wildlife there
plus the Orang Utan Sanctuary at Sepilok. Then on into the jungles of Sarawak, travelling
from the dry sandy beaches of the South China Sea at Miri to the mountains and caves of
Mulu National Park, amongst unspoilt rainforest deep in the interior of Borneo.
Itinerary
Day 1
- Meet at Kota Kinabalu
International Airport (KKIA) and transfer to a 2-3 star city hotel in
Kota Kinabalu.
Day 2
- 4
- Accommodation at a city hotel in Kota Kinabalu.
Based at the the heart of Kota Kinabalu city, you can make your own choice of day trips (self-guided) to:

Kinabalu National Park (self-drive hire car or long distance bus)
* Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park (the "coral islands") from the Jetty
downtown
* Monsopiad Cultural Village by taxi
* White water rafting trip in Padas or Kiulu
* Visit the Tambunan Rafflesia Centre

Day 5

Option 1:
* 3D/2N Sandakan Tour (similar to EB-SDK08 but plus 1 extra night at
Sukau)

Day 8
- Pick up from hotel and transfer
to KKIA for flight to Miri, Sarawak
- Meet on arrival at Miri airport and transfer to accommodation.
- Overnight at Telang Usan Hotel (3-star), a hotel that is conveniently
located between Miri Airport and the town centre, and has breath-taking
views of the Lambir Hill range.
Day 9
- Accommodation at Telang Usan Hotel
Based at the Telang Usan Hotel, you can make your own choice of day
trips (self-guided) to:
* Lambir Hills National Park
* Niah Caves
NOTE: Or you can also arrange guided tours at extra charge
Day 10 & 11
- Meet at hotel lobby and transfer to Miri airport for flight to Mulu
- Meet upon arrival at Mulu airport and transfer to Park Headquarters
- Overnight at Park Headquarters in twin-share "cabin" with its own
bathroom
NOTE: Visits to the caves are self-arranged and at extra cost

Day 12
- Flight to Kota Kinabalu (BKI) from Mulu/Miri
- Transfer to Seaside Travellers Inn, Kinarut, a family-run
establishment located in Kinarut, about 20km south of Kota
Kinabalu City (KK) along the Papar road, in a village called Kampung
Laut Kinarut. It is 12km from KK Airport Terminal 1 and 18km from
Terminal 2.
- The Inn is situated in a peaceful area, surrounded by palm trees and a
lovely garden. The Beach House is built right at the edge of Kinarut
seashore with a scenic view of the South China Sea and the beautiful
islands in the horizon.
- Overnight at Seaside Travellers Inn
Day 13
- Free at own leisure
- Overnight at Seaside Travellers Inn, Kinarut
Day 14
- Meet at Seaside Travellers Inn and transfer to KKIA for international
flight to onward destination or home
