of 3 Malaysian hostages appeal for stop on military attacks
MALAYSIA (ABS-CBN) -- Families of the three Malaysian hostages
are appealing to President Estrada for a stop to the bombings in the islands of Sulu.
Richard Jaya Suriya, owner of the Pandanan resort, were the
hostages were snatched also issued the same appeal. But at the same time he criticized the
Philippine government saying that President Estrada would be held responsible for the
Malaysian hostages.
The wife of the hostage Nur Slangan said she would like her
husband to come home alive.
Suriya also criticized the military, saying they were inept in
preventing the cross border movement of the Abu Sayyaf from Jolo to Sabah last Sunday.
The families of the hostages conveyed their appeal to Sec. Lee
Peng Wee who is in Kota Kinabalu for a visit to Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Muhamad.
