Muslim extremists claim they kidnapped an American ZAMBOANGA, Philippines, Aug 29
(AFP) - Muslim extremist gunmen holding six European hostages claimed in a radio interview
Tuesday that they have abducted an American man.
Abu Sayyaf spokesman Abu Sabaya
told DXRZ radio that they were holding a man named Jeffrey Craig Schilling, who he
described as an American and a spy for the Central Intelligence Agency.
Philippine police could not
immediately confirm the report. US embassy spokesmen in Manila were unavailable for
comment.
