SULU KIDNAPPERS GRANT RELEASE OF 7 MALAYSIANS

ZAMBOANGA CITY, (ABS-CBN) - The extremist Abu Sayyaf group pushed through with the release of seven Malaysians after it was postponed a day earlier.

Reports said the Malaysians were placed on board two Philippine Airforce helicopters and flown from Jolo to Zamboanga City.

The Malaysians are among a group of international tourists kidnapped from the Malaysian island resort of Sipadan last April 23.

Prior to this, the Abu Sayyaf already released two Malaysians a few weeks ago.
