Tourism Tourism especially
nature tourism is growing in economic importance in Kalimantan over the years.
Kalimantan has perhaps the most unique and untouched flora and fauna species in
Borneo. Although there is presently a lack of 5-star hotels in Kalimantan, there has
been a mushrooming of what is referred to as eco-resorts all over parts of Kalimantan
(most centered at South Kalimantan). Some of the visitors attractions are Pasir
Panjang and Kijing beaches in West Kalimantan, Tanjung Puting in Central Kalimantan, the
Pasar Terapung (floating market) at Kuin River in South Kalimantan, and the palace of
Sambaliung Kingdom in East Kalimantan. |
