The People - Custom and
Culture The largest majority of Bruneians is the Malay which also includes several
Brunei indigenous communities such as Kedayan, Tutong, Belait, Modang, Bisaya, Dusun, and
Murut. The other indigenous groups comprise Iban, Dayak, and Kelabit. Other
major races include the Chinese, which are mainly centered at the urban business centers.
Each of the indigenous ethnic groups have their own distinct customs and cultures, and
most of them are closely related to their counterparts in Sabah (i.e., Dusun and Murut)
and Sarawak (i.e, Iban and Dayak). |
